Welcome to the official website for children’s book author and editor Lauren Cecil. Lauren Cecil is the author of more than 30 books for children and young adults.

Lauren Cecil grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and attended the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She graduated in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Language, and after finishing college, she stayed in Ann Arbor for a while figuring things out. She taught yoga, made a lot of cappuccinos, DJed a radio show, and edited the horoscope section of the Ann Arbor News.

In 2005 she moved to New York and began working as children’s book editor for Scholastic Inc. and Modern Publishing. In addition, she has also written many children’s books for licensed properties such as Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, Littlest Pet Shop, High School Musical, Wow! Wow! Wubbzy, Winne the Pooh, and more.

Lauren lives and works in New Orleans where she is currently working on her first novel.
